Tokyo Droning

So its been a while now since my last post but mainly because TD will likely not have a release until December now. This is due to the postal strikes in the UK in part as the parts needed to make our lovely discs didn't arrive in time before I left for Japan. However, Home Normal and Nomadic Kids Republic will be functioning as normal (well NKR will be kicking things off VERY soon!). For those still waiting on Segue discs, please let me know if they have yet to arrive as the postal strikes are a total nightmare in the UK. Its hard to believe they have gone on so long and are just crippling small businesses. Still...we are alive, we have some AMAZING releases but there will be a gap now for a month or so. We still have a handful of Segue CD's left for those interested. Many thanks.

the last copies of offthesky 'fluorescence' are now in experimedia, darla and databloem so you better be quick! and just to address the emails in one fell swoop - we don't do pre-orders of any of our releases - we just sell it on the day...so for those asking to get pre-orders of the great segue album 'grey' you can go to any of our distributors (as they all have copies now) to pre-order, and we'll be selling and sending on the day (the 18th of Sept).

deeply frustrating and disturbing to see how many illegal links there are to sites hosting the offthesky release - i am working hard to get these taken down but its just a wall of 'we didn't upload it' and its very very tiring. we have sold 60 CD's with more out in the next week at Experimedia, Darla and Databloem - so it means that one person (or more) in those 60 has taken it upon themselves to upload an album we will try to also sell digitally AFTER the cd is long sold out. These links have come up a week after release which is amazing...why why why? It is crippling to such small labels! whoever is buying from us / or ordered our releases then uploaded on a shedload of hosting places PLEASE PLEASE consider the massive effect it has...please...

a bit later than planned, segue has been recently sent to distributors for its unveiling on the 18th of September! this also means that you will be able to get copies of the now sold out offthesky 'fluorescence' release from darla, databloem and experimedia then as well :) more information soon...

norman records have now sold out of td_001. you can still find copies at smallfish for now but i think they are down to the last copies...

we have now sold out of td_001. you can still find copies at any of our lovely distributors (see distribution page) - although you will have to be pretty darn quick to get your hands on these!

offthesky 'fluorescence' is officially released! the store function on our service provider is classically down today of all days but this should be fixed soon. The good news is that if you are in a mad hurry you can go to smallfish or norman records for your copy today!

  Very happy to report that after lots of sleepless nights of printing, embossing, typing, cutting, designing and drinking pots and pots of coffee, the offthesky release 'fluorescence' is ready to go out to our distributors tomorrow morning.Release date is Friday the 21st and we will not do pre-orders for this - it is strictly first come first serve. Tokyo Droning is not a drone label. The drone is the hum of activity and inactivity, of things seen and unseen. When the senses are overpowered by the great hum in front of us, we lose the microscopic elements, the deeper patterns too. As a label we focus on the tones, sounds, elements and melodies which surround and permeate, astound and confuse, focus on and wholly ignore. In this sense, Tokyo Droning is a 'drone' label. Nothing less and nothing more.
